soa conversion

Hey all in the know. my gf has a gq patrol with leafs all round have seen plenty of soa conversion threads in the toyota section just wondering whats the best way to go about doing this on a nissan and if it requires an fab or aftermarket parts to make it works.

Cheaper/easier to buy a coil chassis and swap everything over.

i agree with chops in getting a already coil chassis - though it is fairly easy to swap the rear from leaf to coil. i've never been involved in a front leaf to coil swap.

in regards to chops other point - "soa conversions are illegal in qld" - what is legal to modify of any worth?????? dont let it put you off having a go. f.t.p.

Yeah she wants to keep it leaf sprung have already tried talking her into a coily as i own 1 but she wants to be different in keeping it the way it is she runs 35's everyday anyway so its already illegal doing the soa gets rid of quite a lot of hang up points plus you get a lift with out actually having to buy new components. So the question still stands any help would be awesome as i am a coil man.

as i said i dont know but you would probably go high steer (look up the threads on mq knuckles) and well as anti-wrap bars (some what hilux style) if you have plenty of torque. probably extended brake lines as well. if your old girls ute is a weekender you may have to start and just roll with the things you have to change. sorry cant help more but i'm with you (i've got 2 coilys) and good luck and have a go.
