std they come with 30m of cable so you should be able to fit 50 plus metres of rope on. Starts to get expensive though

I think m10 has the same as larger drum as the m12. So no the 9000 drum is smaller. The m12 comes with 38m of cable vs 30m for the m9

Rope is thicker than the cable. I struggle to get 40m of rope on my 9000 with an extended drum. I think 28m is ideal, so buy 30-32 for a splice. Unless it already come with a spliced end, you will never get 50m of rope on a standard lowmount, widened drum highmounts only get 55-60

You may get more than 30m on it, if you use 8mm rope, but you will break it often, so it's a bit pointless. Besides, 30m of good quality 12mm rope plus a 15 or 20m winch extension strap is probably still cheaper then 50m of thinner rope.

Rope thicker than cable? :? Maybe if you don't spool it on under tension? Rope compresses allowing way more than cable. You can fit over 80m of rope on the m12
