60 series landcruiser pto winch problem

hello
i got here is a toyota landcruiser 60 series with a pto winch with a problem
i got a lever on the side of box that goes in side the car that move up and down
and there a thomas winch on the front i think it's a T58 that the lever on the left side
moves side to side to free spin and then locks again
it allso has the tailshaft that go from the gearbox to the winch
but the problem is that nothing work nothing happen when you move any of it
so if somebody on here know anything about these please help
i did a search am i can't find any info about these anywhere
toyota ln130 surf leaf sprung front and rear lockers front and rear 35's lift and all the rest

with the winch drum lever engaged, try and spin the shaft coming out of the winch

check the lever in the cab goes all the way up too

ok with the lever engaged on the winch the shaft spins still
and the lever inside the car is going forward all the way
i have taking all carpet out so i could see whats going on
so with that said whats all that mean?

ok. the two levers lock two different drive assemblies. So only apply one lever at a time to check what's buggered.

If the winch lever is in, and the shaft spins the winch has a buggered worm drive, shaft or dog clutch

If the PTO gearbox outlet box lever is in, and the shaft spins, then the PTO drive box on the transfer case is buggered or the cable isn't engaging it.

when you move the lever on the winch to the left looking at it it will engage the winch.
now with the lever in the cab engage this, put into gear then jump under car and see whats happening.
if the pto is turning, the winch shaft will be turning, if no turn at the winch itself u have a broken shear pin.
easily fixed, they are a copper pin so if too much load is on the winch they snap first.
if this turns and nothing at the winch i would start removing the winch and inspect whats going on.
they really are a simple winch and not much goes wrong with them
