Beadlocks on radial tyres?
I have a set of creepy crawlers on alloy trail ready beadlocked rims. I want something a bit more road friendly due to the amount of hwy driving I have to do now to get anywhere. So should I sell the lot as package or keep the rims and use them again on a radial tyre.
My 4x4 isn't a daily driver it only gets driven when I go for a 4x4.

Re: Beadlocks on radial tyres?
Beadlocks are illegal on any road in Aust, so it wont matter if the tyres are bias ply or radial !

I thought you werent allowed to modify rims, only making weld on beadlocks illegal?Bentzook wrote:Beadlocks are illegal on any road in Aust, so it wont matter if the tyres are bias ply or radial !
That being said, I run my MTZ's as a daily with locks. Always good to know you can run extra low pressures safely if you get into trouble.

Get your tire fitter to use balancing sand if you balance them, did that to my creepys and now they are unreal on road even when you get a torn lug or mud stuck in your rim the sand shifts to accommodate the necessary balance for a 37" tire you want to packets oh and it dosent cost any extra coin well they didnt charge me any extra for it.
Re: Beadlocks on radial tyres?
I tried balancing sand in my centipedes didn't have much luck with ill give it another go one day.

You should really replace them each time you change tyres or take the lock ring off.
I run 33' BFG AT's on Allied beadlocks on my daily driver and theres no problems,,,, deflating below 10 psi on a regular basis may be detremental to a radial tyre though

Hey i just noticed that you've got a high pinion rear,,, when i've got time i'll go over to your thread on Patrol4x4 and ask you a few questions.
Re: Beadlocks on radial tyres?
No drama. Do a search in this Nissan section on high pinion rear, there are step by step instructions with pics.steel wrote:SIM79 wrote:Thanks Steel

Yeah i'm really just interested in hearing from someone who's run the high pinion for a while and done some decent road kms with it.
