Are there any events in WA coming up? I am currently building a range rover with an LS1 and other bits and pieces and was hoping there were some amature events to enter into this year?

There is a comp soon up at MOA which is 600kms north sounds like your kind of event its mainly for winch challenge vehicles going fast.I run an invite only rock crawling event once a year and a couple of others are trying to get a few more events up and running this year.
