As it says guys i need info on ORI shocks... |Iv been made a deal to run these by a new importer of these that looks like its to hard to refuse on these shocks but i know nothing about them and need some help.
Who runs them, who has ever had anything to do with them???

ORI Struts? internal bypass nitrogen-charged long travel suspension systems are the latest tech for dunes, recreational, and rock and desert racing, where compact size, light weight, and top performance matter most. Yes I spent most of yesterday researching these things and the more i read the more i like them...
There is no need for sway bars, limit straps etc.. As they have a nitrogen charge in both rod and piston side they can be adjusted and tuned very easy and quickly... They also have a 7 stage external adjuster for rebound...

Ok i contacted a guy in the states that sell these and also runs them on his comp rig..
Hey there Mate i have been told you are one of the best to talk to about these struts.
I know very little about these and nobody in Australia runs them yet.. I have sold 2 or 3 sets to Ozzyland, but its a big country I did see a few cars running them at KOH 12 when i was pitting for team 2228 this yr.they aren't suited for KOH like a $4-6000 shock package is, but they aren't a $4k shock package. On the same hand, a heavy rig with Mogs isn't suited for KOH. Super light weight and durable with lots of power and shock cooling are what works at KOH. If you mean you are running a speed event on these, they shine. if you mean you are running an event with miles of sand whoops like desert racing, they aren't as good a choice as coilovers and bypasses with air bumps and sway bars. We have excellent luck everywhere but sand whoops/desert racing. High speed stuff is soaked up by them with ease, and tuning is easy. Sand whoops are doable, but with lots of tuning, and they will never be a coilover/bypass combo
My rig is a hilux truggy running 5lt V8, Th700 hilux t/case with unimog 404 axles on 42s..
I currently run 16" redback coilovers in the front and race runner 18" airshocks in the rear.. I have been contacted by a new imported of these into Aus to see if im interested in running the ORI struts on my buggy.. 99% of my driving is trails and comps - rock crawling. I am planning on running on event that has a little speed in it later this yr KOR. I need convincing (nearly there) on getting these things... How easy are they to tune,90% of tuning for 99% of customers is with a nitrogen bottle and a screwdriver. Change pressures and screw the rebound damping screw in or out to make changes. how stable are they rock crawling, side angles etc...stbility and packaging are my 2 main selling points. The stability is unmatched by anything else on the market, period my rig is farly heavy but alot is unsprung weight.. will this make any difference.You want to keep the sprung weight low. They aren't bothered much by heavy axles, but you'll see the best results with a rig that is under 1000 pounds sprung per corner. .

So I bit the bullet this morning and placed and order for 2x16" STX ORIs shocks... these will replace the rear 18" race runners that are currently on the rear of my truck..
Reason for going 16s and not 18s again is that these need at least 6" of shaft showing to enable them to work as there designed to.. any less and the shock will continueally be in the secondary chamber causing a harsh ride... And i had always planned on running 16" coilovers in the rear...
Ill be testing these on the rear before i make the desicion to purchase 2 more for the front.
