Cheap muddies, Anyone used them?

Does anyone have any experience with "Sonny", "Achilles Desert Hawk", "Goodride", or "Westlake" Budget muddies?
I am chasing some budget 31's and I am in Canberra, everything cheap is in Sydney and I cant see it from here.

$850 with rims seems too good to be true for four. Is it?

i had Achilles Desert Hawk H/T on my old terrano (they were on it when i got it) and they were a good tyre and i have seen the M/T version and they look quite good as well

goodrides are on my camper just cheap tyres but seem to have great wear i wouldnt run em on the 4b tho ...
if ya want cheap muddies just look for a 2nd hand set $500 will get ya sorted

The "sonny" ones have had some not bad write ups in afew european mags.. I am considering a set as well .. I can go six for less than the price of 4 big brand units.

I'm running khumo muds, 275/75/16 they were $270, can't fault them, aggressive pattern, quiet on road seem to be wearing well, clean mud out well!

x4 had them in a 31 and a 33 then went to 35 creepy crawlers but if i am short on cash and need new tires im going feds again.

yeah mate i payed $1200 for 5 on sunnys in a 33" (285 75 16) , $260 is the dearest ive seen em for...
same with the bighorns $300 each for 35" (315 75 16) ... i think the federals work better but horses for courses...

The Federals are better in mud than the Bighorns.
I find that the Bighorns are more refined and are a better overall tyre.

Never heard of those tyres, so i wouldnt touch them.
Sounds like everyone likes the federals which is good cause i just bought a set. See how they go. Tough looking tyre!

my thoughts here,bighorns were a good allrounder type tyre,federals good bang for your buck,looked good went good on and off road but i found in the wet they wernt to good,km2s are what i run now and there amazing!!

Another Vote for the Federals, i have had them on my weekender now for 3 years and cant fault them, the only reason im not running them anymore is i got a set of 35" creep crawlers.

Running federal couragia 35s... Awsome road grip in wet and good off road self clean really easy. noisy on road but what do u expect for an aggressive muddie

Ive run Micky T Claw Radials , MTZ muds & ATZ 4 ribs (allterain) & Im now running Maxxis Big horns.
All the aggressive mud tyres wore much similar on the road (providing I rotated & balanced every 5000klm & averaged around the 45 to 50 thousand klm before retiring them.
The ATZ 4 rib did 90 thousand, I found them great on road & nearly as good as MTZ & bighorn mud terains off road.
As I said, I am currently running Bighorns & I wont run them again, but I will go back to ATZ 4 rib.
