Clutch disappeared...?

Post by tanz-e »

Hi everyone?
Just trying to figure out what's happened to my mates truck and I'm looking for some help.
He put a new clutch in less than a year ago. Without warning It's disappeared. All gears can be engaged simply without clutch. There's feeling in the pedal. But engine just revs when accelerator is pushed.
Can someone tell me what's happened?

Sounds like the clutch lining has gone or stripped / broken input shaft, what make and type is his truck ?

89 GQ.
There was no sound.
He's gonna drain the oil tomorrow and have a look for any metal bits...

I remember doing a 2 hr hand winch recovery out of a bog hole with no drive only to find out that the guy we were winching out had knocked the transfer out of gear..............not funny at the time but PMSL now, ah the memories, I had totally forgotton about that until I read your posts. Very easy to do though!!
