FJ61 vs HJ61RG (factory 12ht) Gbox

Post by Ashley_bmx »

Gday fellas, just curious whether or not these 2 boxes are the same. Or atleast whether the transfer cases will interchange. The Box in my hj61 is fine, but the transfer wont select low 4. So i was thinking about either swapping complete box and transfers, Or just swapping the transfers. The transfer in my hj61 has Electric/vacuum 4wd Engage (button on dash + stick for low 4 only). And the transfer in the FJ61 is 100% mechanical (ie stick only). Its a 86 HJ61 and an 88 FJ61
Cheers guys, Ash

Gear boxes and transfers are more or less the same and interchangeable. There were running changes but if your swapping the whole transfer it wont be an issue.
