Landcruiser diff carriers, interchangeable ?

Post by GO79 »

G'day,
I'm after a replacement front crown wheel carrier for a 79 series cruiser, even though the spline on the 80 series front diff centre is different to the 105s and 79s can I put my ratchet locker and and crown wheel onto a 80 series or 75 series carrier the put it in my 79 series diff .
Just trying to open my search as it's seeming hard to find a 79 series one

Front diff or rear diff?

I can tell you 80series and 105series front diff carrier is interchangeable.
105series rear carrier is different to 80series, axles are different diameter and spline count is different, crown wheel and pinion gear sets have different bolt pattern too.

AFAIK, 79series stuff is the same as 105series. Not sure about 75series though.

Yea its for the front diff,
Afaik the 79 diff centre is identical to the 105 series centre.
So as I'm just after the front carrier and my lokka holds the axels spline so the 80 carriers will be sweet to use with my 79/105 lokka and ring gear if I find a 80 series carrier before I can find a 79/105
Thanks 80's
