diesel complete exhaust
hey im sure some people out there have done it, wat have u guys done and how has it helped.. i have a nk 2.8 itd and was thinking from turbo back, dump pipe and 2.5" through with hi flow cat and muffler??
Re: diesel complete exhaust
Mate i have Mk triton turbo back 3inch exhaust, 1 muffler ( original system has no cat) and honestly i should of spent the money on other mods. Sounds good but done bugger all in the peformance department & fuel economy hasn't changed. (11.2L /100kms). Just my 2c worth
Re: diesel complete exhaust
I haven't done this yet, but from what I've heard 2.5" is all you need. The main performance increase is apparently that it allows you to increase the turbo boost. With a bigger bore exhaust and increased turbo boost you apparently see notable performance increases.
Again, not something I've done, just what I've heard. I'll probably wait until my exhaust needs replacing anyway and then replace it with a 2.5" system and less restrictive exhaust boxes.

Re: diesel complete exhaust
Dump would certainly be worthwhile and I have been thinking about it for some time - larger dump pipe off the turbo and back a decent distance even in the short term. At the end of the day this is where gasses are the hottest and need the extra room and its not like the diesels rev hard so need the volume all the way through to expell large volumes at woot like high performance cars.
Re: diesel complete exhaust
Our last pajero was a NL 2.8TD I got a 2.5inch exhaust from turbo back fitted with one muffler. Did not notice to much of an fuel usage gain. But the boost went up by 2 - 3 psi which made it perform better. Cost $400 up here in Rocky to get done so I would do it again.
Re: diesel complete exhaust
I have a 2006 MK GLX-R. I am looking into a 3" from the turbo back with a dump. just wondering if there is anything special I need to do or consider
