New to me old lux

Post by Guy »

I just purchased a 1980 lux on saturday ... needs a bit of a tidyup but is basically OK .. has a reco 18r in it, also got as few $$ off as I tild him the rear diff was farked (UNI's out of phase on the rear d/shaft).

The seats are showing the fact they are 24 years old, So I would like to swap in someting a bit newer .. as I am over 6 foot and it's a single cab space is a bit of an issue .. what seats would your guys recomend??

Also need a few bits and pieces for a RWC .. if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it ...
see thread in wanted section ..

sounds like you got a good score.

im 6ft 8" and i used to have a single cab lux, i put a std bench seat in, and got it re trimmed and re padded (better over bonet vis) for a total of about 170 bucks (including the seat!) but failing that try a set of laser seats as mate of mine fitted them in his 45 and they were pretty comfy.
my 80 is gone :(

Engine type should be on the plate under the bonnet. Mine is an 83 2.2l diesel and is an LN46.

Should be RN46 and will have 4.88 gears unless someone has swapped gear sets. All first generation 4wd hilux's had 4.88s from factory. Same for both petrol and deisel.
