Has anyone used this brand of locker or kno any thing about them: POWERTRAX LOCK-RIGHT Locker
I am looking at front & rear lockers for my GQ Wagon and found these in a google search.

Lots of people use them in the front of thier patrols, they do not make 1 that fits the rear diff. Most will either run the standard rear if still in good condition or shim it up. The next step is manual lockers both ends.

I have one in the front of my patrol and my LSD is tight , so I haven't bothered doing anything for the rear. It's one of cheaper and best mods I have done , I am glad that I didn't wast my money on leaky lockers. They would have be an extra $1000 and have so many things that can stop them from working.

Hilux guys have been using Lockrights for years, with good results.

for normal 4x4 play they would probably be fine. In comps they gave us & alot of others issues.
These lockers work by activating when 1 wheel slips or spins, making them automatically lock in.
in comps & normal hardcore play there are times you dont want a locker on.
EG :- powering up over a bank or ridge while getting wheels off the ground.
WHAT HAPPENS :- with an open center or un-locked air locker in the front nothing happens,
you go up over the rise, wheels in the air & its good fun.
WITH AN AUTO LOCKER when you go up 1 wheel will spin, making the locker engage & if you come down with
acceleration you break a CV or if you are lucky just an axle, so if you go an auto style locker just be wary & back off
the accelerator pedal in the appropriate times & all will be good.
GQ's & GU's have great LSD's in the rear not like TOYOTA's if your LSD is a bit sloppy just get it re-shimmed.
my GU 218,000 klm's on it still chirps a wheel when doing U turns due to its LSD still working fine.
with whatever locker you go, concentrate on the front locker first as you might find after using it for a while
that you dont need a rear one.

Thanks for that it cleared a lot of things up on how thay work and how to use them. I've never had or knowen any one with a Locke diff so it all helps.

X2 They are permanently locked and unlock slightly when cornering. im going to go with a lock right i think. if thay work well in a hilux why not a patrol and there a 3rd the price of a air locker and i can fit it my self has to work better than what i got now wich is nothing.

Yer true. ^^ got 1 in the front of our work GQ UTE. it goes nice. Hvent played in te mud or rocks bit nice in the sand. Just locks all 4 tyres and starts pulling. ( it's a bush recovery vehicle)
93 duel cab lux. 2.8 TD twin locked. Big tyres, little lift. Wide stance. Barwork and build up under way
