Retread Tyres

Post by Terrano1993 »

Im not the richest out there, and saw 4 x NEW RETREAD MUD TYRES 31" 10.5 r15 for $415 for 4 tyres.

I haven't seen anything wrong so far with retreads online except for peoples posts?

Whats so bad about them?

You can get decent AT maybe even MT tread brand new for not far off that price in that size, that said apart from generally wearing very quickly due to very soft compounds there is not any real major problems with a retread IMO anyway
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

A few years ago, I bought some retreads in that size(31x10.5x15), they were muddies, copied on the BFG KMs.
I was happy with them, they behaved nicely on road, were ok off road.

If your short on cash, go to the local tyre shops, and ask to see what they have out the back, most places will have some second hand tyres there, someone comes in and gets new tyres, or bigger ones. Ive bought second hand tyres, with around 80% tread still on them, for the family bus(31x10.5x15).
Cost me as little as $40 each, and $60 each, and thats fitted and balanced.

Theres also places that wil deal in second hand tyres, but alot of those are no good, but you can find some good tyres if you do some searching.

Where are you??
I know a few places in the Fairfield area(Sydney) that should have some good quality second hand 4x4 tyres.
