So I buggered my front diff in my 91 NH 2.5 TDi Pajero Im looking at getting a complete second hand diff from the wreckers. Am I right in assuming I can use a front diff from any NH with the same final gear ratio? In my case its 4.875. Or do the diesel models differ somehow from the petrol?
Thanks

Pajero front diff help.

Re: Pajero front diff help.
There were 2 different front diff sizes (7.5" and 8") and (from memory) the 7.5" came in both high pinion and low pinion.
If you purchase all the associated mounting arms (and the front driveshaft) I believe you can bolt the 8" into the NH. Again from memory, I think the 3l V6 shorties had the 4.875 (mine has), and NA diesels have 5.29.
Our Tech Data thread should contain enough info to help you identify what to expect in any given model at a wrecker.
