Hydro Assist and a 1hz

Post by horndog »

Gents

Just seeing if anyone has had experience with putting hydro assist on their vehicle with a 1hz using the standard pump.

I have no more room to mount a different pump on the motor as I have two alternators and crap everywhere.

I have pulled a standard pump a part and see how I can increase increase the pressure but is it possible to increase the flow rate at all?

Thanks

Yeah, just drill out the restrictor another mm or so to get more flow

It's the fitting that attaches the high pressure line to the pump

I've modded a few now. There are only a couple of PS pump manufacturers in the world so there are lots of variations of the same couple of pumps. They all work in a similar fashion. For a modded stock pump, just use a 1.5" bore ram as 2" will be too slow.

Cheers for that, I have pulled that fitting out and there is no restriction as it has a few holes, or are you referring to where the fitting screws into, as the bottom of the tapped section there is a small hole there.

Hey mitch, when you do Hydro assist, you take the original pump off and put a new pump on, you don't have 2 pumps. So take the original one off and mount the new one in the same spot.
