3rz turbo and v8 hilux's

Post by johno88 »

just wondering what sort of power are peoples hilux's are running on the dyno with the v8s as aposed to 3rz turbo? would be intrested to see the differnt power at different revs between the two. i know tyre size and gearing will play a part in it to so post that up as well. my hilux just made 185 kw at the wheels on 33s with 4.88 diffs, running 11psi in a 3rz turbo. its scary to open it up as the front steering goes all light :D

As opposed to your rear steering? Thats a good effort, i dont have figures to compare, all i can say is that for what i use mine for i prefer the instant power of the 1uz. And i dont need all the power it has. I drive a modified xr6t ute and although i love it, it cant match the instantaneous power the 1u has. Just my 2 cents

4Runner with 347 Ford.

Only using a custom mpg cam but since being dyno tuned I have fixed an airbox issue that was robbing 9hp so it will now be around 360rwhp (265rwkw). 32" tyres and 4.56 diff ratio.

im pretty happy with the results, for any one intrested i did a fair bit of research into what size turbo i should get and ended up getting a Garrett gt3076 which has proved to be good it has 570cc injectors, front mount intercooler, 3in exhaust and a haltech sprint 500 , it makes all its power by 4800 rpm and and all the torque around 3200 rpm so you dont have to rev the shit out of it to get places. pretty keen to get up bush in it soon should be unreal. bought some number plates a few years back for it but i think it might draw to much attention to it. GOTHP  . If any one is keen to go for a wheel soon yell out im keen as.
ozrunner that is a huge amount of power that would be insane
