03 gu zd30 reving high at idle

hi all i have a 03 gu patrol with a zd30 in it the update one and when i start it up hot or cold it revs up to about 1500rpm buy its self has anyone had this and what fixed it. its really anoying it still revs high when i put it into gear (automatic) it still revs at about 1200rpm

Do you have the fast idle switch turned on?
Think it's on the rhs of the steering column near the dash light dimmer

No I disconnected it to make sure

Only a guess from me here... are you sure that the high idle switch doesn't do anything when it's OFF.... what I'm saying is, when it is switched OFF maybe that actually has something activated (a solenoid or similar) but when it is in the ON position it is actually disconnected... so if you have disconnected it, maybe it's ON..... so you have high idle... :cool:

That would have been my next post.....
I'd check that. Reconnect it and see if you've fixed the problem.

No difference I might disconnect the battery to reset the ecu and see what happens
