Hey all

just wondering if someone can help me and tell me what i am missing from my connection for my glow plugs
its a 2.8 diesel

i had a look in my manual and that all there is but the nut is plastic over the nut

the insulators are missing. scrunge the wreckers for some of any l series diesel. otherwise toyota may have some or just make your own. need a plastic washer on the bottom, plastic tube over the shaft and plastic washer on top. the two terminals sandwiched in the centre.

The insulator is missing. I have them, just be careful and don't short out the circuit

as said they are the insulators. if you short the system it will blow your fusible link. if it is anything like the 2.4L big block diesel haha, it will have a manifold heater underneath the manifold as well. toyota have them, they are the same as landcruiser ones so should be easy to find.

the 3L (2.8 ) doesn't have the "manifold heater". the "manifold heater" is actually a dropper resistor so the glows run on a lower voltage while the engine is running, until the engine heats up. also know as toyota super glow system.
the resistor is bolted onto the intake to keep it cool.
