I KNOW THIS IS NOT A COMP. BUT THERE A-LOT OF US WHO USE THIS AREA FOR "R N D", PHOTO SHOOTS FOR MAGS,PRACTICE/TRAINING OR JUST RECREATIONAL WHEELING WITH THE FAMILY TO THE SCENIC LOOKOUTS. THIS IS SO SERIOUS THAT I WANT IT POSTED EVERYWHERE & THE WORD TO BE SPREAD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW THAT MIGHT THINK OF ENTERING .

# WHAT LOGAN CITY COUNCIL INTEND FOR THE AREA! = THE LOGAN CITY COUNCIL HAVE PLANED TO TURN SPRINGMOUNTAIN INTO AN ENVIRONMENTAL PARK JUST LIKE DAISY HILL. WHEN COMPLETE IT WILL HAVE DESIGNATED WALKING TRAILS OF ALL SIZES,POINTS OF INTEREST(Aboriginal art & historic areas,history of timber & logging, water catchment,native species & scenic lookouts ect) PARKS & PIKNIK AREAS FOR FAMILIES.

# WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS? = WITH THE EXPANSION OF QLD's STH EAST THIS AREA IS NO-LONGER WAY OUT IN THE BUSH WHERE NO-ONE EVER GOES. THERE ARE MANY NEW HOUSING ESTATES THAT BACK DIRECTLY ON TO THIS AREA, & MANY MORE TO COME WITH THE ADDITION OF HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS & SHOPPING CENTERS ECT.
OVER THE YEARS THERE HAS BEEN MAJOR LITTERING, DUMPING OF STOLEN CARS, DAMAGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT, WITH DAMAGE TO COUNCIL EQUIPMENT & PROPERTY. (gates smashed &-or stolen,machinery vandalized, power poles damaged, ect ect.)

#WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO ENFORCE IT & HOW IT WILL AFFECT YOU = THEY HAVE A NEW ENFORCEMENT TEAM. THIS TEAM HAVE ALINED THEMSELVES WITH THE LOCAL POLICE & THE DMT (Department of Motor Transport) ALONG WIT THE GREEN PARTY,HORSE RIDING,BUSH WALKING & EQUESTRIAN (horse) CLUBS.
BY ALINING WITH THESE PARTIES THEY HAVE PEOPLE OUT THERE JUST TO TAKE DOWN VEHICLE INFORMATION & LOCATIONS. THE NEW ENFORCEMENT TEAM HAVE INITIATED THE USE OF MULTIPLE MOTION SENSOR CAMERA & INFRA RED VIDEO VALIANCE EQUIPMENT EVERYWHERE. IF THEY DON'T CATCH YOU DUE TO NUMBER PLATES NOT BEING SEEN THEY CAN PICK YOU UP FROM SIGNAGE ON YOUR CAR & SPONGERS LOGOS OR EVEN THE INFO ON YOUR REGO STICKER.
THEY NOW HAVE MOBILE RANGERS ON BIKES & 4WD's TO CATCH YOU! WHEN THEY HAVE CAUGHT YOU,YOU WILL NOT ONLY GET A FINE FROM THE COUNCIL BUT YOU WILL THEN BE HANDED TO THE POLICE & DMT SO IF YOUR VEHICLE IS UN-REGISTERED IT WILL BE CONFISCATED! FOLLOWED BY COURT CASES & FINES FROM POLICE ECT. IF YOUR VEHICLE IS REGISTERED IT WILL BE HANDED TO THE DMT FOR ROAD WORTHY INSPECTION FOLLOWED BY POLICE FINES & COURT & MORE FINES.
SO BASICLY YOU WILL GET CAUGHT, YOU WILL BE FINED,YOU MAY LOOSE YOUR LICENSE, YOU MAY HAVE YOUR CAR AUTHORIZED UN-ROADWORTHY, YOU MAY HAVE YOUR CAR/BIKE CONFISCATED.

# LOCATION = THIS AREA WILL BE THE WHOLE SPRINGMOUNTAIN AREA. Milo, from my belief Spring Mountain isn't a designated public wheeling area it is just an area that they have been getting away with wheeling there for awhile.
Its gonna be hard to make it a "Public" wheeling spot and fight the land use when SEQers have 8 4wd parks within 4 hours of Brisbane.

they have told me fines for being caught in there start at $300 & that they have around 30 photos of me.
I have to go to court next month as a result.

trust me it would be way cheaper & safer to drive 45mins down the road to the 4WD parks.

I was under the impression that this was private property.

There have been warnings issued about not being able to drive there a bloody long time ago.

So if that is the case, can you blame them for getting heavy handed when people do not listen.

I just want to make it clear that it wasn't a snipe at you Piglet or anybody in particular for that matter.

However this particular spot is a sore point for me. I grew up at the very end of school road as a kid, and for decades this was always crown land used by everybody. Horse riders, motos, 4x4's, and it's never been pristine that's for sure. I very clearly remember fiinding WW2 UXO's all over the joint quite regularly.

The fact that the demon spawn that is delfin and friends managed to secure it's purchase at knock down prices, with ZERO public consultation, and then a well known ipswich mayor made a fortune and got re-elected just sticks in my craw.

So yes, while it's NOW private land, it hasn't always been. It had until then ALWAYS been used by all members of the community

NEW GATES & NEW SIGHS ARE NOW IN PLACE AT THE TOP OF THORNBILL ST GREEN BANK BLOCKING ANY ACCESS UP PAST THE WATER TANK.
IST A BIT LIKE SHUTTING THE GATE AFTER THE HORSE HAS BOLTED. IM STILL GETTING FINED FOR GOING IN THERE, BUT THE SIGNS & GATES ONLY GO UP AFTER I TOLD THE POLICE & RANGERS THAT THERE ARNT ANY AT THE LOCATION WHERE I WAS TOLD I WAS TRESPASSING.

I HAD MY COURT CASE YESTERDAY, & SPRINGMOUNTAIN ISNT THE ONLY AREA THEY ARE TARGETING.
I HAVE BEEN FINED & HAVE BEEN REQUESTED TO DO 12 WEEKS COMMUNITY SERVICE IN A TREE PLANTING & BUSH REJUVENATION PROGRAM.
THEY CANT CONFISCATE MY ORANGE COMP CAR AS I HAVE SOLD IT TO HELP WITH PAYING THE FINE.
THEY ARE NOW COMPILING PHOTO'S & VEHICLE FILES, THEY ARE ALSO GOING TO 4X4 PARKS & COMPS LOOKING FOR THESE VEHICLES THAT THEY HAVE FILES ON.
SO IT MIGHT BE A GOOD TIME CHANGE THE COLOUR SCHEME & DECAL LOCATIONS ON YOUR VEHICLE.
I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY TO HELP YOU GUYS. THEY SAY THEY WILL GIVE ME MAPS & STREET NAME LOCATIONS FOR THE LOCK OUT AREAS,BUT THAT WILL TAKE TIME.

HERE ARE SOME REPLYES TO QUESTIONS ON OTHER FORUMS.
tHEY ARE AFTER ALL MOTORIZED VEHICLES THAT ENTER. buggies, bikes, quads & 4WDS.
Registered vehicles risk not only the fines but can be subject to roadworthy inspection as they have affiliated themselves with the DMT, & POLICE. unregistered vehicles risk being confiscated.
The fine was enough to hurt, & make me never want to go across the road to go in there eva again.I will head down the road to Beaudesert & the local 4WD PARK "CITYVIEW" (steve has just purchased all of the scenic rim leased land, now its over a 1000 acres of park).& the NEW "SCENIC RIM 4WD PARK" relocated at Rathdownie.
The council that is heading this up says they are the NEW LANDS MANAGEMENT TEAM for the COUNCILS, they have affiliated themselves with the POLICE & DMT (department of transport) There intention is to turn Springmountain into another Daisy Hill style conservation park. They have a NEW JOB & are pushing hard to justify it.
They have also told me that Springmountain isnt the only area in question.
They have mentioned that they also manage the Ripley area aswell as other areas.
They have agreed to send me a list of street accesses that should not be used & supply me with maps of the areas that I can post up on all forums to help you all. This came about at My court case, as I pointed out that it isnt as clear cut that we are trespassing as the council has made it out to be, as there are numerous tracks like a maze that can lead you in. so they have agreed to supply the information required. (but at some point I / we, have driven around or ignored gates & signs)
THIS INFORMATION WILL TAKE A LITTLE TIME FOR THE COUNCIL TO GATHER.
WHEN I HAVE THIS INFORMATION I WILL ASK FOR HELP TO POST IT, AS I AM NOT THAT GOOD AT POSTING PIC's & THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT.

OK, I have just been given the first map from the Logan council.
It will show you areas marked in red that are the NO GO ZONES with longdatude & latatude grid/mapping references.
there are areas that are marked in yellow that are proposed areas.
BUT NOTE THE AREAS THAT ARE BEHIND & NOT MARKED ARE MORE THAN LIKLEY IPSWICH.

What I need is somone that can post pics that I can email this info to as I dont have the skills to do it.

The Logan Council says that the areas that are not in red are either Ipswich Council (so same fines as they cross run into each other) or privately owned land, Spring Mountain Development (PEETE DEVELOPMENT) own the as yet non developed area around the dam & out to the yellow area they have their own security now due to damage to gates, dumping of rubbish/stolen cars & complaints of noise from their residents. The biggest problem out there are the people that smash the gates & bollards ect, if they just drove avoided them or found another way around them without any damage the council's would have left the place alone.
They understand that there are multitudes of tracks that lead you into their protected areas & they cant fence or gate it all, but its the few that have gone in & tore out their gates ect that have wrecked it for all of us, if the people that damaged those areas had just back tracked to another track around the gates ect, the Council wouldnt be policing it the way they are.
just be careful wherever you go in there. The Court said to me that although the area I went in was not fenced or sighed I still went on to someones property without permission & that is trespassing. & trespassing does incur penalties. (if caught)
I will try to get mapping from Ipswich City Council to add to these.
Id just head down the road 35 minutes to the Beaudesert area 4wd parks, where your vehicle is covered by insurance & cant be confiscated or sent to the D-M-T.
PS. hows my old orange girl going. if that truck had auto pilot it could take you threw that whole area by memory.

[/quote]" Regrettably we are all creatures of habit, & people will keep on going in there just because they have done it for years with no repercussion, I "myself" was introduced to the area by one of Brisbane's largest 4WD CLUBS that used the area as their CLUB 4WD DRIVER TRAINING area over 16 years ago & so to were a lot, of other groups like the Scouts held their annual National Jamboree in there over 10 years ago. All those major groups would gained access via the correct channels (just like your old Morayfield comps) but the message had not gone across that you cant go in there under normal/UN-supervised conditions, so thats when the area gets opened up by the masses & explored.
The biggest problem with this area is that when they do go in there, there are multiple, literally hundreds of tracks that lead in,most of are not sighed.
OK so heres the problem even thow there not supposed to they drive in there, they do. so now they are on their old familiar tracks, but then an hour later they might come across a barricade of some description, instead of turning back or finding an alternative route, some are tearing down the barricades. which basically are costing all of us more $$$ as their expenses get re-routed back threw our rates ect that are constantly on the rise to cover councils costs.
"AS THE COUNCIL SAID TO ME" they cant stop everyone going in there yet but they are trying, & its now only because of the damage that is happening is why they are policeing it to the maximum levels, of fines & or vehicle repossession ect.
Im just trying to help & get the word out, so they dont have to learn the hard way like I did.
