Turbo Identification

Post by Paul Smith »

Hey guys I was just given a turbo and I am not sure if it is to small for my application, I have a Toyota Landcruiser with a 4.2 ltr diesel 1hz engine.
How can I find out what all the numbers on the turbo mean. I was told the turbo is off a Hino truck with 3.4 ltr engine. I have tried searching the net but I can't sort out if this will be a good fit for my engine, will it be to small or to big. I only want to run low boost 8-10psi it is mainly to give me a little bit more power for towing my camper trailer. from the numbers below can any one tell me if this turbo is a t25 or t28 . I have been told the best turbo for this engine is a GT2860rs, how close is my turbo to this.
the numbers on the turbo front intake. Garrett E-C1 A/R .61 M24
Exhaust FJW-1 1-1/2 M3 A/R .47
there is a tag on the front with Garrett Japan GK 01071 , 24100-4460 , 732409-9
I have searched all of these numbers but I can't find ant info.
I have many other questions but I will start with these.
any help would be great
thanks
