The new park will have a larger under lights section that will allow more spectators to view the cars. The terrain is similar to ranga's rock but is longer. This area will only be open to Kotr registered cars. The park has around 2km's of rock runs for daily drivers.

Photo's of the new tracks will be put on our website over the coming months.

If you want to book the cabins or house for the event you will have to get in quickly.

got a fair bit done on the new track last weekend its looking pretty good .
we have a few different sections this year for the two different classes of vehicle . the buggys will have more rock and a few more gully runs .
the extreme mod guys will love some of the faster sections and flat out hill climbs.
we will let you know soon as to when we will have a pre run day . hopefully around august .

You guys should most definitely move the dates forward a week! Pleeeease... The Lowmead 3 car dates were set for the weekend after you guys, but now the gun club ( have a lease on comp site) want the property for the weekend we set the comp for. And you can't really argue with a GUN club haha. But it is a real pitty and would be great if it wasn't on the same weekend as you guys.....

Haha, it's all good! Next year I think I'll ask organisers what dates they are planning on using nice and early in the year so we can dodge other events by at least two weeks so the Offroad Cartel lads can keep their vocals in peak condition for each event they commentate :D

Shieldsy..... I don't think christmas would ever work for you.... Seriously do even your own parents buy you presents??

Quick question, as everyone knows single cab utes are tight for space and ccda allow externals that are built to internal specs. I have read the rules and it does not state an internal is a must, therefore, if we have a 6 (or 8) point external that is properly, professionally made with the correct seamless tube is this up to the standard expected for kotr? Can you please clarify.

I am not trying to dodge saftey or expense as my cage cost a fair bit and is plenty safe etc. Just after clarification.

Thanks

Thanks for clearing that up. Makes life a little easier. As far as bracing and cage design etc are you basically looking for something along the lines of ccda requirements? I am sure some people are constructing cages just for this event, and to say '6 point cage well built' is very broad and may catch some people out who think theirs is good but fails on something simple. To be more specific, i am talking about cross bracing in the roof area, bars across the base of windscreen/dash and bars up the middle of the windscreen.

Also it mentions head and tail lights. But does that include brake lights?

Thanks again

If you build to CCDA spec, you will be fine. You don't need any bracing down the centre of the windscreen, but if it were me, I would add it for own peace of mind.
Make sure you have minimum "X" in the B-Pillar. Minimum 2.5mm wall tube. We are not talking huge speed, so it isn't worth going down the CAMS road, so long as it is well constructed, not half welded dodge jobs, you will be okay. hop onto facebook on offroad boss king of the rim there are a few pics on there .
80% of the track is done all that is left is some work with a machine to put in a couple of jumps some more rock and some logs .
these will all be in the main spectator area just after the start .
the night stage will be one to watch under lights 2 gullys the second one much harder than the first with a final climb that makes crampys look tame.( i think we might have to move a few rocks around )
