Wiring diagram 40 series.

Post by loosecanon »

Has anyone got a clear wiring diagram for an FJ40. This is for a "78" not that I would have thought that would matter. I have found the one in the Bible but it's for a BJ, I have found some really good info on IH8mud but it's not clear and I can't make out the colours of the wires. And yes I searched in the electrical thread.

This is actually getting really bad we have to prove we searched before we post :)

Cheers guys

Just my 2 cents but I would start over new if you've got the car apart. I was always chasing loose ends in my 40.

I found this to match my 76 model

the letters next to the wire tell you what colour it is and the colours are written down the bottom

Thanks heaps for the reply guys.

This is what I was looking at: http://www.ih8mud.com/tech/40wiring.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

While it has some really good info I it was just a bit to blurry to make out the colour codes on the diagram. Is there anyway we could add Dannyboy's link to the bible? I always seem to be playing with electrics.

Oh and Scanas, yea my plan is to strip back to the standard loom and clean it all up. This is for the Cooks car and it was just a birds nest. Have a look at her build thread and see how much we have already stripped out.

The colour codes for the wire's I needed as she is doing a HEI ignition conversion, and the cleaner it is the easier it is for her to learn.

Cheers for the info. Happy wheeling,
Luke
