What size pulley do i need?
I bought one of these power steering pumps http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index.ph ... ulley.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to run on my new 45, My question is What size crank pulley do i need to run to run the pump at correct speed? Its going on a small block chev which does not currently have any ps pulley on it so i have no starting point at all.

Re: What size pulley do i need?
You need to ask the manufacturer what the pumps ideal RPM range is.
Your Chev won't do more than 6000.
Most pumps run at about 1:1.

Once you find out the rpm of the pump this will do the rest even tell you what size belt.

If i just overtook you head to your nearest mechanic
Re: What size pulley do i need?
Belt length for two points is easy (1st pulley diameter X 1.57) + (2nd pulley diameter X 1.57) + (2 x centre distance). Throw in a third point or idler, you now have three centre distances and it still won't be perfectssfabricator wrote:http://www.blocklayer.com/pulley-belt.aspx
