Logan 4wd club still doing night runs ?

Post by oozuk »

I'm home for the weekend of the 30th june and really hanging out for a bit of good wheeling.

has the logan 4wd club got any planned night runs on that weekend ?

Otherwise I'm thinking of going out to the family friendly gymkhana at the springs for a play.

can anybody advise ?

It has been discussed at meeting to stick with the first weekend every month but the last one that was organised for the first weekend was in March, the same weekend as the start of the 6 day plus it was very wet. 2 cars turned up. First weekend of April was easter. May was a long weekend. Not sure what has happened this month as I have been away working myself. Also discussed at meetings is where to hold a night run as most places are getting shutdown. The choices left for a decent run are Glasshouse or go to a 4wd park. The last Glasshouse run I went on was a cracker, others were planned but the weather was not good and they were canned. And then you get the people that dont wont pay a fee to do a night run at a park. We id one last year at Cityview and 11 cars turned up. They will happen and be posted up.

I think getting the word out has been the problem. I have been searching for these with no success. Very keen for more!

When ever there is a run on, it is always put on Outers and other forums. The last one was in March and was listed on Outers. The one prior to that was at Glasshouse and 20 odd cars turned up, it was on Outers so I do not know where you search. Come and join the club and help put one on.

Outers is not the power house it use to be. If word isnt getting out there then it might pay to advertise it on other forums or set up a facebook group for the club.

They are on other forums and the Logan Club also has a facebook page and also website.
At the club meeting this week it was mentioned about night runs and the club is enquiring about the restrictions put on Glasshouse, but if a run was to happen it would be at a park like Steve has suggested for a run so there is no reflection on the club for doing a run in areas that we are not suppose to be in.

Steve
Gps or stick seems to be great either way.
As for levels. I think if you make it flowing med to hard with hard extreme check points...
You will always get more stockish cars turn up and get stuck, so making it reasonably med will stop hold ups. Have check points optional if ppl want to bypass.
Gps runs are just fun regardless, combine the gps points with long distances between points.

probably aim for a stick map going on the response ive had, and also didnt get a lot of interest in the gps event when it was , on not sure why maybe not enough people think they are confident enough with them. as soon as we get in and remap the extra land we have now i will put on a medium run with hard to extreme options.
