Here's a 440 in a DAKAR in the UK.

I saw it in 1995 before it was rebuilt.

The guy that owns the Site would be able to help with advice.

He's a nice guy.
Cheers,

sorry guys, i dont get on here much and didnt get notifications so i will have to keep checking on the thread.
zuffen i tried getting hold of that bloke with the dakar a while back. will try again one day
loanrangie, yes i am using a bb mopar front casing and the scout/rover extension housing, rover used the box on a slant so i have raised one side of the transfer to twist the lot.
that_kid i will probably start posting more up here as i get more done, very little has happened lately, but now that i know theres intrest i will get back onto here, am slowly getting around to stretching the wheelbase slightly to get better departure angles

whats peoples oppinions on what size tyre to run, i had my heart set on 37's but am a bit worried about breaking the diffs and having to upgrade to gu gear. also i want to run minimal lift with no rubbing for high speed jumps etc (car is lifted 2 inch now and hoping to not go higher than that) i will be moving the back axle back slightly and the front forwards slightly.
so end of the day how much difference will a 37 make to a 35 on a rover?

I'd stick with 35's as these fit ok with 2" lift and flares but ideally body lift as well, i hope your not planning on keeping the rover diffs ?

nah i already have gq diffs done, im concerned about the strength of the gq front with 550hp and 37's and an idiot driver, also 2nd hand 35's have been coming up cheap lately.
i want to run 2" lift max and hate body lifts, i dont mind butchering the guards at all and will tub it if i have to to keep it low
