maverick bouncing @ 95km/h

Post by surfboarder »

hi guys....
finally got my maverick now :D
...and hope its ok to post in the nissan forum :?
...its really nice ( i will update my members thread...) ... but at 95km/h it starts vibrating and bouncing ...
it doesnt feel that bad but its like 94 km still smooth and from now to then that different...
could there be any screw loose or something like this?
or just some aerodynamic or other irrelevant stuff?
...cheers!

Check all the usual suspects first, uni joints, slip joint, suspension bushes. Also check your wheels for a missing weight that could be throwing it out of balance at speed.

does it smooth out again when you go faster? Fairly good chance you just a wheel balance

yeah i think its getting a bit better while driving faster, but due to you are only allowed to drive 110 here cant really check out
but i called the dude who sold it to me if he had the same problem before he changed the two front tyres...
and he said no...
so hopefully its really only the balance... but i will let it check the next days..

Have you checked tyre pressure as over inflation could cause it to bounce around.

I would suggest balance, several times ive had a balance done and driven away thinking what the hell this drives terribly! Mine is like that now but for me is 85km it started after i got a new set of tyre for the front.

Try swapping front and rear tyres around as you wont notice it as much if its on the back end. if this changes it then its on of the tyres that was on the front. go back to the tyre shop and winge.

Can also be loose, bearings or worn bushes.

or... a delaminating tyre.

Have fun
