suspension
gday guys my names jake im new to this site. thought i would let everyone know that if they need any questions answered about suspension or spring resetting to let me know i have been in the spring game for around ten years now and know that it is hard to get a straight answer out of some so called " specialists" without them trying to tell that your car is shagged and you need to replace all of your suspension. im not on here to advertise or try and get work out of any one just want to try and help other enthusiasts out.
cheers

Re: suspension
How many times can the average set of springs be reset?
What is the average price for a set of replacement, longer main and wraps for a common car like a toyota landcruiser or nissan mq?

Re: suspension
all depends on what sort of life the springs have had... usualy max of about 3 times some can be done more but not much. as for the longer leaves i usually charge about $120 per leaf for longer mains and wraps
Re: suspension
Ive got a question for you. Do you correct caster with your spring resets?
Re: suspension
if its anything over a 2 inch lift then i will use castor plates to suit that is if it needs them
Re: suspension
What about leaf springs?
Re: suspension
Reason I ask, is too see if youve picked your act up . Back in comp days I recall agreeing with bob to get my suspension done and run his stickers. Handed over my hard earnt cash and couldnt even drive the thing home from nambour. Dangerous shaking over 60kph. And I qoute "caster correction was never part of the price". It was a 7" lift... She'll be right.
Re: suspension
well that was when bob owned and ran allset springs. he is out of the game now. i agree it should have been done but was sort of car was it?

Holy moley! 7" lift leaf springs? The wedges needed to correct caster on that mofo could double as door stops to the gates of Mordor!TheBigBoy wrote:75 series
Re: suspension

Re: suspension

Re: suspension
is there any way for you to find the properties of a particular type of leaf spring and mimic them to make the same?
eg: 55 series springs are supposedly 'da bomb' for the rear of the 40s but can be hard to find and are often to suit small eye shackle mounts..
Its something i've been curious about... and wondered if they could be made with the big eye's to suit later module bj42's..
