G'Day Folks,
I've been experiencing some intermittent issues whilst running my vehicle on LPG. Initially the car would cut out at idle when on gas and then progressed to cutting out whilst under hard acellaeration. After many visits back to my so called gas specialists and a replacement converter they appeared to have solved the problem with a larger and stronger earth wire.
All good for about six months and then the problem returned the other week. Now I'm smelling a very gassy smell which you may assume would be leak related perhaps but I'm told not. Car appears to idle ok but now cuts out when acellaeration is applied???
Any ideas or accounts and fixes from members experiences would be appreciated- I'm nearly ready to rip the bloody thing out!!
Cheers

Re: LPG Gas issues
some further detail about the car and converter type would be handy.

Re: LPG Gas issues
Sure - Its a Landi renzo (think that's how it's spelt) mixer system in a 4.8 patrol (2005). Hopefully that makes sense to someone..
Re: LPG Gas issues
There is too many variables to pin point without somebody looking at it. Check air/fuel ratios in exhaust for rich or lean, that should then tell you where to look,
put vacuum gauge on diaphragm for opening pressure.
fuel lock off functioning or blocked
is convertor freezing, and on and on and on....

Re: LPG Gas issues
its probably a problem with your high speed or fuel prosessor.try holding it at about 300rpm and disconecting the electrical plug on the high speed and see if that solves it
Re: LPG Gas issues
Renzo landis have a common problem where they leak gas from the control solenoid mounted in the centre of the converter.
They can leak enough to empty the converter so there is very little gas available when needing to accelerate, hence the stalling
under accelaration. It is easy to check by spraying soapy water onto the solenoid and watch for bubbles.

Re: LPG Gas issues
Jut replaced the auto power valve and seems like I have had a win. Time will tell but will keep folks posted. Thanks for the advice and fingers crossed the gremlins have gone.
