Re: rockwells?
I think OPW build the rockwells under "the proclaimer" and I know locktup 4x4 build a set with Ovseron ( spelling) axles.
Call both of them maybe.

Re: rockwells?
BIG would be my first thought!
Did you see how wide the 2 trucks at tuff truck were
They are strong but you expect them to be as they are big diifs for an average tt style build!

An average build could be the start of something huge, least if I have bulletproof diffs I can drive it how I choose n have room to play with the hp etc!

Re: rockwells?
Hope you got a gantry during the build. Farken huuuuuge!!!!
The go hard bits are made by Ouverson and Branik, but even stock they'll be good for a real big tyre.
And the gearing is loooowwwwww

John had in excess of 20k invested in his rocks.
Never even finished them either.
I believe they are up for sale and for a great price

I think Pirate 4x4 is your friend here. Seems like every second buggy or mud truck is running rockwells

Re: rockwells?
All the 4x4 front diffs are top feed I'm sure that's how they roll lol I'll look into what ones before I buy any but can get them cheap in the states but opw recommend using 406 portals I just need to be realistic on the cash department n consider the poor man pays twice!

Re: rockwells?
Why 406? Alot of ppl run the 404 I believe, you'd want to do your research on spare parts, dont want to find out that you can get heaps of parts for a 404 and fuck all for a 406.
And yep plenty of built rockwells cheap in the states

Re: rockwells?
The opw truck is running 406 and has not broken anything in 5 years 404 diffs aren't as strong, I've found a set in Australia for 4500 but dunno if that's a good price? They obviously need pinion conversion n they're drum but could be the go. The amount I'll spend building a set of 60 diffs to keep breaking I may aswell wait n pay for a good set of big diffs straight away.

Re: rockwells?
think they have had some trouble with pinion bearings?...they sound like the go for that price tho, Moglux left his on drums and reckons it still pulls up good.pom wrote:The opw truck is running 406 and has not broken anything in 5 years 404 diffs aren't as strong, I've found a set in Australia for 4500 but dunno if that's a good price?
