Awesome tech!
A mate and i are making these totally new style arms that have amazing flex and bolt on using 2 plates that give you a new bolt position and allow you to run an arm with different bolt centers, BUT they are nothing like those shitty SF arms at all! They are 80000000bazzillion mm longer and you will have more flex than anything ever made, and they will be the best in the world! They will have so much flex that the diff can flip upside down, and they will be super stable like a F1 car..... there's no probably, just definately! I would post up a pic , but my patent attorney hasn't finished my world patent. I haven't made any yet, but they are way better than anything ever made!

Me and a mate are designing some arms that should work well at speed and also flex. Ours will be a drop box arm with 80" bush at the rear and 300mm longer than standard. We are also pushing the diff forward 15mm. Our bolt spacing on the diff end will be the same as a cruiser. We are incorporating a custom gearbox crossmember/bash plate to bolt to the drop boxs. We have designed ours to go around (over and under) the tierod.[/QUOTE]

Greg, you are a VERY knowledgeable guy with much hands on experience. But it shits me when you come in drop a few one liners and piss off. I have asked you direct questons in the past trying to learn more and you dont repsond. Your response to my pms has been 50% at best.
Dont give guys shit for not knowing as much as you if your not prepared to help them learn.
I didnt go to uni
I didnt grow up around ANYTHING mechanical or hands on.

cmon, please give me a bit of credit. I always try my best to give true and correct information and technical data, sure sometimes it might be short and sweet, but as you can appreciate there is always some trade secrets you should try and keep. Any info given is at least enough to give someone a starting point in which to learn more and I am always happy to answer indepth questions either by PM or phone (mainly cus i am a slow at typing).

The submitted pics were redrawn that way for a reason, and the guy that did them was my Patent attorney. BTW He has a PhD in industrial automation and a BEng and worked for BOSCH Europe designing automotive components, SO if he wanted to submit a technical drawing HE WOULD HAVE!! Which patent are you challenging, I have 3 that could be applicable? I do really hope Buddy is not silly enough to try it, I did initially give him more credit than that, but by the sounds of OUTLAW he is, would be a shame for him to lose everything because of some idiots big mouth....

Re: Adjustable Radius Arms
I don't agree with some things people say, Greg included. But there is no reason to be rude about it and name calling. We are here for the tech. And to put everyone's minds and experience together. I trial everything myself before commenting. As does most. It's the guys who have never trailed or contributed anything, yet comment that are the problem. We all have a million questions.
Re: Adjustable Radius Arms
I did and do give you credit Greg. I have Pm'd you with different questions about different subjects, some of which you had posted on which lead me to asking. Most have gone unanswerd. I know you are a very busy guy and OL and my questions should certainly not be your priority. The reason I posted the above is that of late the little you come on seems a bit "oh here we go again....." Maybe your sick of some guys asking the same shit or saying you are wrong, not all of us are mate. The more tech topics especially Suspension design and geometry dont get talked about much. Im NOT AFTER INDUSTRY SECRETS, and that is CLEAR by what I ask or discuss. Im after the principles, concepts etc1MadEngineer wrote:uninformed wrote:Greg, you are a VERY knowledgeable guy with much hands on experience. I am the FIRST to say that I have 1% hands on experience and NO schooling in any of this. I only own a DD land rover so I cant exactly chop it up and play. For me my interest is that anything I do be road legal and safe. I think there is alot of scope for more out of these trucks than the factory gives us. Though QLD DOT will not allow much. Im sure you are very familiar with them and it will take interest from a dedicated few to get things to change. Once portals were a no no here. I know of 1 truck that is now legal and I have heard that Marks portals can be made legal here.....this is a start in the right direction.
BTW I dont think nissan axles are better than Toy

Re: Adjustable Radius Arms
Thanks Serg , sorry if i missed or was slow on PM's , I do a lot of consulting work so my OL visits are very sporadic at best. Normally i take forever to try and explain stuff, so sometimes its way easier to just PM a ph number and have a decent chat. I will always help best i can, I spent ages helping Brooksy out with the arms he did, just giving him ideas and info on what does and doesn't work. In the end he was armed with a heap of knowledge and he could make what best suited the vehicle. Normally the only stuff i can't go into great details about is the stuff I am under contract to design, BUT i can always give clues as to the best way to achieve an outcome. As a contractor, I will design anything for a price!! money talks to me the most .... he who pays gets .... or at least thats what my misses want me to tell everyone I try helpuninformed wrote:I did and do give you credit Greg. That's great for you Brooksy.
If Greg had used the time he spent posting in this thread with constructive comments, a lot of people could have benefited from his knowledge, instead he has brought nothing but a personal cat fight into an otherwise interesting thread
If that's the sum total of Greg's contribution in here, better not to post at all.

Re: Adjustable Radius Arms
So how did these little shenanigans start? I was simply posing a question at the start, basically thinking in loud text about something in my head that I hadn't seen before. I haven't even posted on the thread that you dragged up from patrol4x4. I hope your outburst wasn't aimed at me Greg and if it wasn't I would appreciate it if you would keep your cat fights personal instead of clagging up threads with crap.
I'm not an engineer either and this is just a random thought in my head that I would like to explore further. I'm not trying to copy someone elses work or even do this to get extra flex. I'm simply trying to add castor adjustability into the radius arms since that seems to be the major complaint with them. Especially the patrol arms and apart from getting aftermarket arms that already have the correction set or other aids such as offset bushes and castor plates, there isn't anything out there to cater for adjustable suspension which is what a lot of guys now have with running coilover suspension. You can easily adjust your height and I'm trying to get other aspects of the suspension to be just as adjustable.
If you guys have informative information to add to this thread then by all means do so. But if not then just keep it to yourself or send PMs. Don't clog up tech threads with crap.
Mods if you could delete a couple of posts from this thread that would be great.
Cheers

Thanks for your reply Greg. I missed the stuff on the bottom of the last page until now. I was a bit confused by your first post in this thread. Seems like a few of us were, and, Also had no idea of maybe previous issues with others, especially since none of that was in this thread. I certainly dont make it into the Nissan section much at all. Im sure there is some good tech there though.

Re: Adjustable Radius Arms
Its cool Greg. A bit of a knee jerk reaction I guess. Always had good dealings when chatting with you and fully understand the intellectual ownership of ideas and the hard work you put into your products. There are always people that will take a dig when they can. You don't need to justify yourself. The items that you have developed and their success is enough for that.
