4runner pump should be fine with the 80 box but Falcon teardrop would be better.
Why the need for the 80 box? IFS lux/runner will turn 37's.

Agree with want33's, why do you need the 80 steering box ? More rotational movement or longer pittman arm ?

i was told the you couldn`t rotate the pit man arm 180 degree`s ( take it off and put it back on the other direction, facing forword ) i want to move the front axle 5" inches forward ,but to get the right steering geometry or lines, the steering box needs to move back. so can you use the 4runner box ?????

I am using an 80 series pittman arm on an IFS steering box moved as far FORWARD as possible and works, but diff is only 30mm further forward.

5" forward, you may be better off with full hydro steering unless it's supposed to be road legal of course.

If you turn the pitman 180* when you turn the steering wheel to the left the car will turn right..

So you need to turn the drivers seat around too.

    that would be so funny , provided you had plenty of space , pop your friends pitman arm off , and spin it round 180*

back to the original Q: i think il use the LC box ,keep it toyota , i had a look on lukeys 4x4 site and hes done the same thing with his hi-lux
Q: does any know of any links to builds that have used 80`s axles , so i can see different ideas ????? many thanks gloves

Hey mate,
Go the LC box. It'll let you move the front axle forward further than an IFS box will (assuming they're both mounted in the same position on the chassis). Lukey sells the plates for the LC boxes pretty cheap but I'd recommend getting them from http://www.budscustoms.com.au/product.asp?ProductID=929" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as they come with the crush tubes, bolts, washers etc and the plates are curved to minimise cracking at the welds. The box is physically bigger as well.

I think you just need to put the 80 series pitman arm (which will be longer) on the ifs box.
