Hilux Front Leaves... Need some help =)

Post by alien »

Hey all

Just looking for some advice on the softest riding lux front leaves... i run hilux fronts in my suzuki sierra (SPOA with hilux mounts) - i only run the 2 main leaves front and rear.

Being that the rear of a suzuki weighs, well, next to nothing - i'm struggling to get any flex from the rear (the front works brilliantly by comparison).

I've been using 2" lifted APM brand leaves thus far, and they work great in the front but are definitely too stiff for the back. I've even tried just one leaf in the back! lol

So... who makes the softest leaf packs???

Cheers!

IMHO can't go past a old set of factory leaves. They use to make a W without even trying. Get done that have Bern used for many years they should help

fair enough - i've got some from a wreck in the front at the moment cos they were cheap, so i might try swapping the fronts and rears and see what happens.

I'm skeptical though...

does everyone else agree that stock leaves are softest?

i used to have efs comfort ride springs in the front of my hilux and it was brilliantly comfortable..pricey but definately worth the money.i now run a rear up front setup in my ute and the comfort is much the same.

cheers..smiley..

not sure exactly how much longer but it wouldnt have been much as i used 2'' lifted springs and standard length shackles and it gave me a really good shackle angle so maybe 10-15mm longer so it gives you better shackle angle.

cheers..smiley..

could be a go-er, as i run my leaves flat, so an extra 10-15mm would add to the softness i'd think.

thanks mate - i'll likely swap the front and rears i've got at the moment, as my current front springs are stock hilux and the rear is APM brand =)

How about removing a leaf from the pack (3rd) and trial it out?
