what is the ID of the 75 series transfer case behind the H55F?
I.E. 80 series use eithter the HF1A or the HF2A, what is in the 75 series?
does anyone have a repair/rebuild manual for these?
what model vehicle do you quote to get the double lip oil seal to cure the transfer/gearbox oil leak?

As far as I know it's just called A split case. Output seal from a HZJ onwards is the new type. Failing that .MC do a upgraded seal too

ta mate. Who is MC? The gearbox doesn't have to be disassembled to do the inter seal does it. Have you rebuilt one of these? If i just pull the transfer case apart and put it back together exactly the same way will it be ok? or if i decide to do all the bearings and seals will i have to check all the thrust and backlash settings? If the input shaft has a groove in it, can it be speedy sleeved?
I'm hoping that if i replace the shitty little breather on the transfer case with a decent breather tube it'll sort the pressure oil winding problem. The filler bung transfer tubes are the dumbest idea ever, in mine it sends oil from the transmission to the transfer case, which the filler is lower. And since oil don't run UPHILL the tube does fark all, and in my opinion makes it worse as splash lubrication in the trans means that now oil can go fill the tcase even more.

You can replace the seal without disassembling the 'box. Reassembly is pretty easy. I didn't touch my thrust clearance but the preload is easy enough to adjust if you have shims for the Xfer output shaft bearing. There is no adjustment for backlash in the Xfer. If you wanted to sleeve the 'box's output shaft I think you would need to strip the gearbox.

Yeah MC is marlin crawler. Talk to Chris at locktup 4x4 he is a mc dealer.
Pulling down the case is easy as. Put it all back the same way. Don't have to touch the gb to change the intermediate seal.
