Steel tyre valves for beadlocks

Post by SIM79 »

My beadlocks came with steel tyres valves, I was a bit hesitant to use them as they are held on by two nuts on the inside of the rim. Now one has come loose and when you push on the valve air comes out.
I'll have to strip the rim to re-tighten the valve or replace it, not keen to do this again soon, so I am trying to find some better steel tyre valves.

I have searched on google and mainly found motor bike steel tyre valves which have the nuts on the outside of the rim. This would make life a lot easier. Has anyone seen these for car tyres or got a better solution?
If your beadlock steel valves are better . What brand are they?

All the metal valve stems I have ever had, have always had the nut on the outside. Never bought them, just had them laying around, or came on rims I collected at times.

Bike ones need a groove cut into them or they do not air down properly, once done with good cleanup to remove any metal bits and they will work.
