Completely new Comp Winch
Well, Look what the stalk dropped off!
Factory twin motor, 17,000LB Capacity, plumbed air cooling, wireless remote, normal remote, hawse fairlead, specifications to put a high-mount to shame.
It comes straight from the factory with synthetic rope and has the brake separate to the drum. Not to mention I conned the dealer in to supply some albright solenoids!
Where I got it from;
http://www.scintex.com.au/12V-Models-17 ... al-Motors/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I will take some more pics this weekend.
First impressions is that its a big bastard and will fly!
I'm setting up the 76 series for chase / prerun / recovery so this is going on a custom bar on the front.
Feel free to post any questions about this bad boy and I'll do my best to respond.
I think this thing will shake up the winch scene and be a great starting point for winch comps at $600 less than a highmount.
Full spares will be available, and I have been working closely with the dealer to get a Outerlimits group buy, I'll let you know how I go.
cheers bru

Re: Completely new Comp Winch
tigerz11 had these out with little success and x dyna sells them aswell
http://www.xdyna.com/Press_Room_detail.asp?vid=33" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
these pull stupid amount of amps .
i cant see it being better than a russtuff or modded highmount with a freespool and twin motors
maybe cheaper but defs not better .

Yep, I'd agree with flexy, but it's good to see other options. See how it goes I suppose.
Braden Tagg of XRO Racing is scum and not to be dealt with. See here http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=223295

Why you say that?Shieldsy wrote:Being 7500p it'l be slow.

Sherpa at 9000lb has a line speed of 17.7ft/min compared to a warn high mount at 7.9ft/min for only 8000lb.
As has already been said. Cheaper than a high mount and those speeds are only on 12v. Make them 24v the same as most well specd hi mounts and it will be faster again.
But has the benefit of actually having some pulling power. Pretty easy to stall a hi mount.

Re: Completely new Comp Winch

Re: Completely new Comp Winch
I have seen them stall quite abit back in the day when winches only had one motor on 12v. Snatch blocks where pretty common to be seen in competition.
So I still dont see it as a only for a tourer.

2hp is where its at. I still have a 2 or 2.2hp in the shed. Also have a old 24v motor.84sloth wrote:back in the day when 2.6hp was BIG
