Hey all just wondering what to do
I have a 4door hilux project I'm putting together for ttc,
And sitting in the shed I have gu diffs, a 4link rear setup and enough tube to make a 5link,
I also have 2 air shocks to squeeze under one end..
My question is would air shocks in all 4 corners be too soft and rolly?
Will never be a street driven car, but I also don't want it to fall over at every hint of a side angle
And if so what would be a reasonable setup? Coil overs at one end? Coil rear with air shocks at front and the rear coils retained? Budget isn't huge but I'm open for suggestions on whats worked in the past

4link rear 5link front with air shox - bad idea?

There's no reason it can't be stable with air shocks at all corners.
Get all the weight low and centred, get the anti-squat nice and low in the rear so it's not lifting under torque and seeing as you won't be going fast build the roll axis reasonably high at both ends.
Also get the oil level up nice and high in the shocks so you don't need a tonne of pressure in them. I actually completely fill them with oil with about 5mm of shaft showing.
Mount them out nice and wide too, like right inside the wheel. With Nissan/Toyota axles you can even mount them on the top bearing cap or steering arm.
Don't do 5 links in the front if it's not for road use. If you can run hydraulic steering run a 4-link, if you need traditional crossover mechanical steering do the 3+panhard style.

id say everyone that complains about the airshocks have no idea how to setup a suspension
