Will be interested to see how it goes.
A mate has a 100 solid axle petrol, turbo'd....
Undergoing build number three....or it's four I think actually.
Last few rebuilds were due to (1) water ingress snapping a rod and making all sorts of mess/carnage, (2) melted pistons and scored bores, reasons unknown, obviously leaning out but reasons couldnt be found, and (3) blown head gasket.

He's had a lot of issues in fuel delivery, cooling etc. When it goes, it goes. This most recent build should be even better.
My friends aren't holding me back..... I'm pulling 'em forward.

confident the safari snorkle wont restrict to much air flow.

I used a haltec ecu with twin maps one for lpg one for petty, works a treat

Loving the build so far! Great pics! I cant wait to see some vids of it.

Just make sure when its getting tuned that the safari snorkel is not restricting your horsepower. I have no idea what CFM they flow, but they dont look like they would support 700hp.

keep up the good work!

cheers

It's an System sold by Elko in Melbourne. Here is another car we have done back before it made 800hp with the same system. It's in getting more mods at the moment aiming for around 1000-1200hp

we use elco converters on xr6 turbos and 6l chevs etc but with a moter glp ecu. seems to work well the elco's seem to have plenty of gas supply but hav had problems with low pressures sometimes but at least there adjustable.

Finally got it running today. Only some minor things to do do like wiring the lpg injectors and fitting a tow bar before it's ready for the dyno.

I've taken a start-up vid which I'll post up soon.

Nice work the mate awesome stuff.

How was the start up stink of every thing new getting hot for the first time lol.

Do those intake manifolds do much performance wise or just make the intake plumbing a little shorter for a bit less lag. Trying to figure out if its worth investing in one for only a 300hp 1fz .did the std Toyota injector rail and injectors fit direct fit in this manifold and std throttle body.?

Are you running the OEM head gasket?

the 100 series pistons aren,t as good as the 80 series pistons (the skirt is shorter and the ring spacings is closer) so yes keep detination under control . and i would have fitted a cometic head gasket aswell as the factory gaskets aren,t that flash with boost .
if you are fitting a after market ecu as stand alone how are you controling the auto as it is combined with engine ecu factory ?
are you using the factory coils ? reasen i ask is we tryed and couldnt stop them from frying (using haltech ecu ) when put under load ..

i am just curius as i turbo,d my 1fz a far while ago ( allmost 10 years aggo) and has progressed into a monster (last dyno run suprised me allot around 450rwhp with the auto on 35s with bugger all timing so it doesnt detinate so a big los in power due to no timming ) with a safe tune and i have more done since .

who is doing the tune to make that sort of power ( 800 hp ) and is that rwhp or flywheel?

Was pretty stinky

Not sure on power advantage until its dyno'd, we had to modify the rail for it to fit. It is an aftermarket 80mm throttle body. Unfortunately we had to loose the cruise control for now but the owner wants us to make it work later.

Head gasket is standard.

The owner doesn't want to go any deeper into the engine unless there is a problem hence why no head gasket.

The Wolf ecu has full control of the auto and is fully tunable.

Never had any problems running the coils in the past.

We're(o2 auto sports) doing the tune in house. That is flywheel hp. Most 4WD's we tune seem to have 35's

Nice work. I have just finished building my 1FZ with a 3582 hair dryer and the same manifold. It has gone in for a full rewire today and looking forward to getting it back and see what it dials up at the wheels.

I'm guessing by the lack of dyno results posted up, it wasnt even close to the 700hp as stated in the title.......

If you check out the video they turn to the Dyno at the end showing 382 I am gathering that's rwhp.

Did they mean it was going to produce 700hp or they where using a turbo capable of 700hp.

If I mount a monster turbo (capable of 1500hp) on my 1300 vw beetle does that mean I can claim 1500hp :D .....
I would think from the leadup this engine was supposed to make 700 hp..... might need some more development methinks...
