Broken speedo 80 series

Post by Mid73 »

I've had no speedo in the 80 for some time, I thought it was the sender unit on the transfer case but have replaced it and still not working.
Has anyone had this problem before and if so how did you fix it.

I had an intermittent one. In my case, it was some brown crap on the speed indicator circuit board from an unknown source.
Sounds like you will need to replace the circuit board. If you are lucky, it may be a dry joint or a discrete component that is causing the problem.
There are 2 chips but they are a denso part and i haven't found any info about them.

Maybe easier to get another one from wreckers.
