Early entries close in a week

Competitors this year will all be able to camp in the pit area. This is a large flat grassed area.

This year will be a side by side start, running into a amphitheatre area (which will be awesome for the spectators who will be on able to accesss both sides of this area). There are plenty of trees in the amphitheatre for shade.

In this area will be obstacles consisting of a jump, rocks, wombat holes, steep step ups and drop offs....

Vendors will all be in this area along with food, drinks etc...

just a couple of updates and clarifications

In reference to:
An allotted time of 4 hours will be given to each class of vehicle, and split into 2 hour staggered blocks. The goal is to complete as many laps in this time frame. Each lap will be timed, so in the case of equal number of laps, time will decide the winner.

The way in which this will be run will be:
Modified Class 2 hours
Buggy Class 2 hours
Modified Class 2 hours (in reverse direction)
Buggy Class 2 hours ( in reverse direction)

The way in which the two hour block will be determined is:
Two hours to pass through the finish line, from the time you leave the start line.

If you do not pass the finish line within the two hours your final lap will not be counted. It is up to each team to judge their timing and not throw away a lap.

For example, if you started your block at 11.15am you must be through the finish gate by 1.15pm.

Each lap will be approximately 12km (rough estimate) and will include a good mixture of gullies and speed.

Make sure you are familiar with the rules and also safety requirements...

just letting everyone know there will be food and drinks available provided by a scout group, Mr Whippy will be there. Spectating from the amphetheatre would be best using a rug as the ground is sloped on each side.

Huge thanks to Kareen, Joe and helpers for setting up all the lights for the night stage. Looks awesome...

QUESTION: Will we have to have a vehicle in the park to get to the night stage as spectators? And will it cost us $35 to drive from the spectator parking to the night stage area? (not camping). Or is that just included in the price for the day as a spectator? thanks goldy.

Spectator entry for the day covers the cost of the night stage also, Yes you will need a 4WD to get to the night stage we will open up at 6pm for vehicles to drive up, there is no additional fee as this was incorporated into your entry already.

Campers do pay camping fee and 4WD fee which covers the entry to Offroad Boss King of the RIm, they will be able to drive around the park Friday and Sunday and up to the night run on Saturday.

Looking foward to a great weekend.

Huge thanks to Scenic Rim Adventure Park for allowing us to be part of KOTR 2012. The amount of work that the Harris family have put in over the last few months is huge. Sandy & I would like to thank all of our volunteers - if it wasn't for you guys it just would not happen. Thanks to all the sponsors who jumped on board - Offroad Boss, TJM, Massojet (shame the weather wasn't kind enough to allow us to run the night stage - sorry Damo), Allcott Hire.

To all the competitors you guys put on a awesome show...Big effort by all. I hope you all had a great time.

Congrats to the place getters in each class -

Buggy Class
1st - David Burton-Bradley & Greg Heick
2nd - Dave Camp & Hayden Smith
3rd - Michael Sweeney & Rob Moore

Xtreme Mod Class
1st - Evan Baldock & Jason Harris
2nd - Rob Lawrence & Ben Henry
3rd - Rod Rathbone & Russell Rathbone

I'm sure next year will be bigger, better and wider (haha)

Congratulations To everybody who were involved & everybody who attended ..
From what I saw as a stage sponsor & spectator , this was a great event that had been well taught out, there was easy access even for 2wd vehicles, facilities were everywhere, great food for the whole weekend was set up at the "Piggys Restaurant" (the converted old piggery) where they catered for breakfast ,lunch & dinner, you could sit-back & relax at tables & chairs while haveing lunch & still see the action unfold directly in front of you. how good was it on Saturday night having a huge plate of Thai Curry Chicken Rice followed by yummy pudding & custard, its so good to worry about cooking!!! :drinking:  THhere was even a mister wippy van selling icecreams for all the little kids, even us big kids had some. :smilecolros:
The first thing we saw when we drove in was the Pit area, it was a huge level grassy padock where all competitors were set up, from the cars / buggys that you could see, yuo knew it was going to be a big weekend they also had toilets dotted around for convenience & showers only a short stroll away.
The main event area was a cir-cute style that took the competitors on a lap on a large variety of tracks, from 100klm+ straights to rocky gullys to man made jumps, pits & other deviate vehicle torture devices  invented by Brett as they passed threw a huge amphitheater so you could sit on the side of the hill under shady trees & watch the Rigs coming threw .The event commentary & music was being pushed out all day by OffRoad Cartel so you knew what was happening all day.
This was the first time we have been out to the NEW Scenic Rim Adventure Park & we think they have picked a great location & totally recommend it.
The NEW Park has only just started & shows HUGE potential as it is already great, but will only get better as time goes on.
The NEW Park is a lot more vehicle friendly than the old park so you would be comfortable taking your new Ford ranger & the family for a look & it still caters for all of the hard-korr stuff if thats what you want aswell.
For camping you can find good shaded LEVEL areas every where .

Had a Ball, will be back, :smilecolros:

cheers Piggy.
