Fuel tank sender Toyota- Nissan

Post by brad 93hilux »

I have a 93 lux and converted a while back to a rear Prado tank and wired the tank up and fuel gauge worked, (ohms same in Toyota tanks)
Now as I research I find the hilux ohm's 3 full and 110 empty and GQ is 5 full 80 empty.. Roughly obviously.

What will happen when I put a bigger patrol tank in with different resistance? Will it work or can I get something to adapt the two?
Or is there a cruiser tank close to 90-100L I could use that might have closer resistance

Cheers brad

What size is the Prado tank you have now?
The rear tank of late model Prado is 90litres. They come up on ebay occasionally after people do lpg conversions.
Very basic, rectangular shape too.

Think it's 70 or 75l but going to need little extra distance with 37's
I have a GQ tank I can get locally is why I was asking.

The 75 series came with 2x 90L tanks. Might be worth a look.
