Because I would be hesitant to recommend someone buy a medium duty ute for towing 3 tonne regularly. Yes the Navara could do it but I would think that using a medium duty vehicle to do a heavy duty job could lead to issues. These issues are combatted somewhat by buying a vehicle suitable for the job.

If he said 2 tonnes, I would say, go kill yourself, there a plethora of vehicles that he wants that could do the job.

As with anything engineering related, there are safety margins & for me if a vehicle can tow 3 tonnes that would be the absolute maximum I would tow with it occasionally. When you get to the top end of that the risk of issues increases greatly.

Just my 20c.

BTW, I am not a "Cruiser Man", I have not had one since 1990 but I do see that certain vehicles are better for applications than others.

parts are easy to come by if you need them.. theres 2wd and 4wd versions ive seen 5 this year sell for under 30k. even a dual cab in good nick sell for that.. just look at carsales gumtree trading post egay.. they pop up trust me. take a 6cyl for a test drive if you dont believe me. For a 3t ute they haul ass...

I drive a 76 at work and the seating and stearing wheel location is really bad.

Glad I dont have to go too far in it. It would be very uncomfortable on a long trip. I'm 5.10

I really wouldn't consider a modern cruiser any more heavy duty than a modern lux/nav/triton etc, simply a little larger is all.

Also I can't fathom this whole engine too small argument but that's just me.

I personally like the ranger based on looks, would be happy enough with any in the catagory. You looking at a DD Matt given the latest personal happenings?

cruiser,ranger or wot ever you look at it all comes down to the GVM it can tow, And how often it will be used to tow it.

cruisers will hold their value, dont know to the 79 1HD FTE model but in about.. 4 years time they wont be made any more. :shock:
i hope that mr toyota kamakazi, changes his mind, as this is the dominant cab chassis vehicle in the market, and has lead the vehicle sales for AGEEEEEEEES..............
for years.
they will be copping some flack in the not too distant future from customers, who wont buy a peice of shit nissan with that ultra reliable, bomb proof, gutless pig of a pathetic engine that of the 4pot variety they soo call the 3ltr diesel, which owners.......looooooove.
and love the replacement cost of 14grand, and one guy is on his 3rd engine..
all at his cost, mind you nissan came to the party, all of 2grand :lol: :lol: .

gotta love loyal nissan owners. :rofl: loove my 3ltr
