Aust4 Racing Series-Round 1

Post by Aust4 »

A new breed of event has just been launched in Australia. The Aust4 Racing Series is set to bring fast paced, paint swapping racing with three rounds announced for 2013. Round one, the Janowen Hills Stampede is set to take place on the April 26th weekend, within two hours drive of Brisbane.
The event will be loosely based on the popular American Ultra4 series in that the 'Pro' class vehicles specifications are similar and the course layout replicates some of the American series' localized events.
Four classes of vehicle will be initially invited to compete in the 2013 series. The unlimited 'Pro' class has already attracted teams to import proven race vehicles from the US. Following the same chassis regulations of the Pro class vehicles will be 'Pro Lite', a class designed to allow entry level drive lines. Two classes of production vehicles will make up the remainder of the entries; 'Production 4x4', catering for the street legal vehicles and the 'Modified 4x4', designed to allow already competitive vehicles the ability to transition from other forms of 4wd competition.
As well as many fast paced passing opportunities over an 88km course (round one), the Aust4 Racing Series event organizers are excited to announce vehicle prologue racing held under lights at every round. The prologue will encompass purpose built short course stadium racing where side-by-side vehicle shootouts will decide on the main event's starting order.
The Aust4 Racing Series is bringing a new level of safety and environmental standards to Australian 4x4 motor sport with the aim to encourage a higher participation in corporate sponsorship for the industry. The 2013 three round series has been developed to focus on the promotion of an interaction between spectators and competitors - ensuring that all event and team sponsors are highlighted to a broader motorsport demographic.
The rules for this event will be released on the website http://www.ultra4.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on 9th November at 7pm EST if you wish to read the rules earlier then head to our Facebook page and read the status update.
