I'd say its KW meaning 512rwhp as that torque number couldn't be ft lbs ubless you can have either showing.

If thats the case then maybe they mean FWHP. But why are there no rpm's indicated and the speed seems very low for the rpms required to churn out 512rwhp so it all seems a bit odd to me.

I can't see 700rwhp nor 512rwhp from just adding a turbo to basically what seems to be standard 4.5 but I know squat about turbo's, so maybe it could be possible and its still a good build.

I'm sure the OP could clear all this conjecture up in a few, well maybe more than a few, sentences.....

I still think it's a great effort either way.

The 1fz can take 400kw with standard internals, head gasket usually let go though.

There is no way in hell that is making 500rwhp. That number would be 382rwhp and the title of the thread must pertain to the 700hp turbo which doesn't mean the motor will make that, never does.

From what I've seen/heard, AWD 105's tend to lose not far off 50% driveline at the wheels. Speaking to Turboglide once he told me that (on his dyno) stock FZJ105's make around mid 80rwkw (auto's), and they're factory rated at 165fwkw. So near enough to 50% loss in AWD.

Which, if following a near enough trend, puts the above dyno run very bloody close to 700hp flywheel. Which would still be an animal to drive for a bus. Having said that, in the vid you can't tell if it's an AWD dyno!

I doubt very much that driveline losses are a set percentage of flywheel HP. More likely that it takes 80HP to drive the driveline regardless of whether the engine in the car makes 160HP or 160000000 HP

Now that you mention it, I couldn't agree more lol...

I have been so accustomed to people quoting a set figure, but assuming he hasn't made any changes to the driveline over standard to change that variable, there's no way it's losing 300hp in the driveline now!

700hp was referring to the capacity of the turbo and not the minimum acceptable power figure we wanted to attchieve. In saying that it would have had around 600hp at the flywheel. We're in the middle of a rebuild on it at the moment using cp pistons, so we'll be able to push it a bit harder once its on the dyno again.
