I finally got around to uploading a video of the truck driving on road, off road and on Fraser Island last month. If you can stomach me yabbering for the first 30 seconds, you can find the video here:

Holy crap that sounds good.

What are my chances of getting one into the GQ do you think? I really wish Nissan would bring out a good TD in the new Patrol.
No idea whether it would fit in a GQ. I did have a few enquiries from people wanting to do a GQ and a GU a while back, but never heard if anyone went ahead with it or not. If you decide to have a shot, make sure you let people know.

No, haven't ever had it dynoed. As I understand it, you get about 173kW with the 3" and the chip on setting 5, so that's still well down on the standard TTD, let alone one with a chip.

the 1vd sound is pretty good but i find i cant really hear the turbo's, they just dont sound like a turbocharged engine, even those i have heard with bigger exhausts dont have that whistle that sounds so good (eg 4.2 GQ/GU)

the boost bleed off sounds good tho

5 stud.

Can you fit a 200 series auto? The manual box in my 76 sucks.
The ratio's are way too low and too close - they would suit 37's at least (but 33 is the biggest in qld) and its notchy like most toyota's (better than my folks petty 100).
After more than 2 years of owning the 76 I still try to change from 5th up a gear almost every day. It is that bad.
You drive along and think you are in third, put the hand on the lever and realise you are in 5th.

cheers bru

That auto is nice. I'll drop in and see them when I'm down that way next.

Biggest problem is the 200 isn't much dearer, and I can't see that box being less then 6k.
