Another option is por15. Its a rust convert/paint system.

POR15 hey?
I've heard a little about this, have you used this on your truck?
How'd you prep it?
Do you need to brush this on, or can it be sprayed on?

If it is going to be a knock around 4by I have heard really good things about lic40 - get in touch with Mick on here as he is a painter and seems to swear by the stuff. I think it can even go over bare metal ruffed up with 80grit I think. I would also hit it with a rust converter of some description before painting.
How did you go with the fuel tank - I have a dual cab tank (not needed and going to sell once I have sucked all the diesel out of it) which is out of the car a tthe moment and can take any measurements you need to compare it to teh single cab one
Cheers
James

Hey James,
What is Mick's user name (or is that it "Mick"?)?
So its called LIC40 yeah?
open to any and all options for the body panels undercoat. So is this suitable as an undercoat??
I've really been reading up on this KBS coating stuff and it seems gold.
3 step process sounds just what I need for my chassis....its a bit dirty
1) Use "AquaClean" - Cleaner ... removes dirt, rust, corrosion, paint, crap, oil, diesel, you name it. Spray on, leave, wash off.
2) Use "Rust Blast" - Rust convertor ... dissolves rust, anything left over is chemically converted
3) Use "Rust Coat" - Sealer ... Seals out any moisture, looks really glossy, brushes on flat, can cop hammer blows and won't chip (stated)
Fuel tank, yes if you could measure it, or just photos of it to compare to my single cab one would be awesome.
Is it in good nick? are you selling it?

Yeah user name is Mick. from Newcastle area. If you search on here for lic40 you should find a bit of info.
Is there any particular measurements on the fuel tank you need or just overall dimensions. I will be selling it at some stage as I am using a gq patrol fuel tank

Thanks mate,
I'll do some searchin'
Thanks for the info.
As for your tank, what condish is it in?
I have one lined up but it'll need to be treated inside :( as its been sitting empty for a while...probs bit of water in it too. So yours is probs better??
I may even be able to run my SC tank with a 2" body lift?? time will tell. But I'll buy it off ya mate if not too bad?

I used it on mine. I have heard a lot about it and only good things other than the price...Toyo Truck wrote:POR15 hey?

My underbody was brought back to bare metal, Mainly because i wanted to know every detail of the car, any more problems, There was a lot of repairs and mods and i wanted it right the 1st time.
I used their system.

http://www.ppcco.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Can be used both ways brush or spray. I mainly sprayed. Some of my spraying came out matt. mainly due to my $150 compressor and $0 gun..
Just some examples of what i am working with

That looks pretty good mate.
So did you use POR15 as the undercoat and then spray colour on top,
or just used the POR15 as the undercoat and top coat?
I was thinking of doing this, as its tougher than paint and rust resistant,
but wasn't sure how it would come out?
cheers,
Bart
