hello,
i've just put new EFS springs in the front and i'm looking at shocks to put at the moment. I currently have ironman 12635GR shocks which are stuffed. Compressed 307mm Extended 485mm.
I'm looking at the the Bilstein 5100's Compressed 304mm Extended 470mm.
The ironman's look like they fit with the new springs though that are just about fully extended which makes me think the Bilsteins won't fit and i'll have to go the 4" spec. But is that too big? were my old shocks too short?
Here is a pic as of today if this helps.
i have no idea how much lift i have. Please help. thank you.
I have posted this on 4wdaction as well but last i checked it didn't seem as active as this site.

Re: shocks and lift
One little rule you can go by is 1/3 of the shock travel up and 2/3 down. Measure the distance between the shock mounts and go from there.

Re: shocks and lift
Cycle the suspension, its THE ONLY WAY.
Re: shocks and lift
What size lift is your EFS kit?
Re: shocks and lift
Bigger shocks and bump stops is the best option for travel mate.
Get out there!!
Re: shocks and lift
he's right . need 2 flex it up max measure compressed lenght then let susp full drop to extened lenght . make sure shock dosn't bottom before hitting bump stop .easy..TheBigBoy wrote:Cycle the suspension, its THE ONLY WAY.
