Have just finished bolting a coilpack baleno engine into my 97 lwb and have it wired up (mostly) with a little help used pjzooks diagram.
My issue is i still cant get it started. Has fuel (checked at rail), has spark, has all the correct pinout readings at the ecu. Has no fault codes when shorting the diagnosis plug to read the codes (reads 12 all good) and also hooked up the laptop and diagnosis program to the plug and there are no fault codes or anything out of the ordinary.
Have sprayed throttle cleaner down it and cranked it, all i get is some popping and backfiring out the throttlebody.
Is the wreckers engine rooted or have i missed something ?
I realise there will only be a select few who are able to give some insight but any help is appreciated.

Re: Baleno conversion prob
The last one that I did (12 months ago) The motor was sitting in a shed for a LONG time before it was put into a sierra we tried and tested everything and it wouldnt start. In the end we found that the injectors were "stuck" because it had sat so long with a open to air fuel rail the injectors needed a little help. While cranking it I gave the injectors a tap with the handle of a screw driver and she fired up. Once it was running it cleared up all but one of the injectors. We pulled the last one out gave it a good clean out with contact cleaner put it back in and havent had a problem since.
The computer was pulsing the injectors but they were not working.
We found this problem by starting the car on a can of start u bastard and it ran perfectly fine till we stopped spraying it in.
Hope that helps.
