IFS rear axle into rear of Solid Axle LN106 Hilux

IFS rear axle into rear of Solid Axle LN106 Hilux
Now that i have IFS rear springs in the flex is making the tyres rub on the chassis. I would like to widen the track of the lux and after doing some searching it appears IFS rear axles are the go to get 3" of width over solid rear axle. What does this conversion entail, is it a simple swap? What things need to be considered? Other mods needed? just basically a run down of how to go about it. Also can i swap diff centres between the different axles?
Any info from those that have done it or widened other ways would be great!

Thanks spazbot sounds pretty straight forward, just gotta source me an axle now
A hub spacer kit for the front is the go to even it up?
I thought about offsetting the rims but looking at mine id get maybe 20mm each side if im lucky so i figured the axle swap is the go. Cutting and flipping might be the go but ive heard you pop beads easier because the inner part of the rim wall at the bead is smaller than the outside? Is this really an issue?

Yeah a "widetrack kit" aka IFS hub swap is the go.
A widetrack kit is really just a spacer that bolts onto an IFS hub to move the brake disc back so it lines up with the calliper.
Its the IFS wheel hubs that give you the extra width so it is the legal way of doing it.

It is the other way around! the inner bead on the rim is bigger so when they are flipped it is harder to roll the bead off.
You may have heard of people having problems because when you flip a rim and then weld on a beadlock ring to the outside you have a beadlocked rim with a weaker inner bead.
Paul.

Err no
Bearings are in exactly the same place.
But yes engineer friendly simply because wheel spacers are a big no no.

When I bought my widetrack it was $360 for hub spacers and $580 for wide rear axle housing(with longer axles and brakes to suit) + IFS front hubs.
They are still sitting in shed if someone wants to make an offer on them, prolly even get someone to take them to Sydney this week.

Don`t forget the cable
I got a lengthened cable to suit

Scrubs pretty good, also on the tray but thats just a matter of cutting it out. Im after some width anyway. The bump stop gets about 1 inch from bottoming out at full flex and the tyre is squeezed right up against the chassis. It will wear out my side walls as well over time.
Not at all interested in wheel spacers, 1) they are a rip off, 2) not engineer friendly
The brake cable is stretched now from the IFS springs, ive readjusted but its probably a good idea to get the longer cable anyway.
Thanks people!

Where do you buy these widetrack kits? And so by swapping over the rear housing and axles and doing the IFS hub swap on the front you can get all this engineered ? in QLD ?
Paul
Gonads at M+M engineering also makes them & sells through www.abt4x4.com (website is down at the mo by the looks)
ABT is where I will be buying mine from for my SAS.
From my past experience and that of friends I would look to ABT rather than ORI first.
(Disclaimer: the above statement is purely my personal opinion and Im not bagging anyone!)
