Offroad Boss King of the Rim 2013 - CANCELLED

Offroad Boss King of the Rim 2013 - CANCELLED
Offroad Boss King of the Rim will be back again at Scenic Rim Adventure Park in 2013. New date of 30/31 August will hopefully bring a bit cooler weather.
With a lot more time to prepare, we can ensure this year will be bigger and better than ever.
2012 format worked well for competitors so teams will have 4 hrs to do as many laps as they can. This will be split into two, 2 hour sections, with Extreme Mod class starting at 8am and running through to 10am. The buggy/truggy class starts at 10.30am through till 12.30pm, a break for lunch, and then re run both classed again through the afternoon. The winner’s will be those with the most amount of laps acumulated. What this means is more cars on track for the spectators, and the fastest cars running the full 4 hours, and will give teams a chance to fix breakages in between runs, and continue to the end. There will be no time alloted for pit stops this year, so any breakages will have to be fixed in race time, unless they can be managed until the end of the 2 hour stint.
There are two planned pre run days (date’s not confirmed), for which the park will be shut down to allow for full speed pre running. Spectators are invited to attend, but will be restricted to viewing area’s whilst the park is shut down. Dates will be announced once confirmed on the Offroad Boss website, Scenic Rim website, and social media sites like outerlimits4x4.
Competitor admission
There is an early bird registration for competitors. Online registration and payment must be made in the allocated timeframe to ensure you get the discounted rate.

Once you have registered you will be emailed to the rules for competition being developed by Mitch and Brett Thorpe. If you would like any additional information, please contact us at contact@scenicrimadventurepark.com.au.
Rules and Regulations will be revised and posted up shortly, but for a fair idea see : http://www.scenicrimadventurepark.com.a ... 2012v1.pdf
One change for the 2013 event is that; All vehicles must have front and rear locked differentials.

The heat didn't sort them out but the trees certainly did. Apparently they don't move very well.

Re: Offroad Boss King of the Rim 2013
good to see most people are happy with the date change .
would love to see a few of the southern boys make the trip up and hopefully we can get a few more winch style trucks in extreme mod class.
we are planning on a few minor mods to the track . wont be harder just longer and faster.

Re: Offroad Boss King of the Rim 2013
Woooohooooo no more spectating or moving bunting for you guys this year cause i'm gonna be competing.
Rob and I will have our Aust4 Prolite Car ready for this one and I can't wait to actually compete in an event instead of running one.
Would love to see some cars from down south come up and race especially since there seems to be a few getting built for this style of racing.

Brett / Mitch
So the outlaw class rules state "All vehicles must have rear tail lamps which must be permanently on during the competition".... so this means i dont need to fit a brake light circiut just have a light on the rear that is alluminated at all times... any prefference in colour, size, 1 or 2 , do you want them flashing or constant ????
One more for now ..
winching penalty - Failure to use a winch dampener 5mins... does this mean on rope you need a big ass dampener also or will the standard end on the rope be OK if its shielded ???
Matt

Re: Offroad Boss King of the Rim 2013
Hey Matt,
Rear tail lamps must be permanently on or flashing, size, number and colour are personal preference. The rule is there to stop people running into you in heavy dust while you are being lapped by Mitch (Mitch's words.)
When it comes to the winch dampener, it is mandatory to have a "big ass" winch dampener close to the hook on Synthetic rope, (or in centre third of cable.)
Do you plan on winching a lot? Didn't perceive you as a string puller?
Cheers Brett and Mitch
